Ingredients (per serving):

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 0.5 oz Maraschino liqueur (such as Luxardo)
  • 0.25 oz Crème de violette (optional, but traditional for color and floral note)
  • 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • Garnish: Brandied cherry or lemon twist
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

Chill your glass:

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer, or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink.

Combine ingredients:

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 0.5 oz maraschino liqueur
  • 0.25 oz crème de violette
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice

Shake thoroughly:

Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain into your glass:
