Christmas Sangria Recipe

Christmas Sangria is a festive, fruity, and spiced holiday cocktail that brings together the warmth of red wine, the brightness of citrus, and the comforting flavors of seasonal fruits and spices. Infused with brandy, orange liqueur, fresh cranberries, apples, and a hint of cinnamon, this make-ahead drink is perfect for holiday parties and cozy gatherings. It’s a merry blend of cheer in every sip.
Ingredients (Serves 4–6):
- 12 oz Red wine (such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Rioja)
- 3 oz Brandy
- 2 oz Orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 2 oz Orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 oz Maple syrup or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 Orange (sliced into rounds)
- 1 Apple (sliced thinly)
- 1/2 cup Fresh cranberries (about 4 oz)
- 2–3 Cinnamon sticks
- Optional: 2–3 oz Sparkling water or ginger ale (for topping)
- Garnish: Rosemary sprigs, sugared cranberries, or orange slices
Instructions:
Prepare the fruit:
Slice the orange and apple into thin rounds or wedges. Rinse the cranberries and set everything aside.
Combine ingredients in a pitcher:
In a large pitcher, mix together:
- 12 oz red wine
- 3 oz brandy
- 2 oz orange liqueur
- 2 oz orange juice
- 1 oz maple syrup (or to taste)
Add fruit and spices:
Add the sliced orange, apple, fresh cranberries, and cinnamon sticks into the pitcher.
Stir and chill:
Stir everything together gently and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably longer (up to 24 hours), to let the flavors blend.
Serve:
Fill glasses with ice, pour in the sangria with fruit, and optionally top with 2–3 oz of sparkling water or ginger ale for a light fizz.
Garnish:
Garnish each glass with a rosemary sprig, sugared cranberries, or an orange slice for a festive touch.
