Spiced Pear Whiskey Sour recipe from Thomas: exact measurements, a simple method and the best whisky to use.

The Spiced Pear Whiskey Sour is a classic sour in a wool jumper. This Spiced Pear Whiskey Sour recipe adds pear juice and a spiced syrup to bourbon and lemon, and it’s soft, fruity and fragrant.
It’s the sort of drink you serve on a wet October evening, when the lights are low and you’re pretending the central heating isn’t on.

Use a good pear juice. Cloudy juice tastes more like fruit.
The syrup keeps in the fridge for about two weeks.
Spiced Pear Whiskey Sour variations
Use rye for a spicier drink. Add a dash of Angostura bitters. For the original, make a Whiskey Sour, or for another autumn sour try the Maple Whiskey Sour.
Best whisky for a Spiced Pear Whiskey Sour
A sweet, spicy bourbon works best, because pear and cinnamon love caramel. Look for 43% to 47%.
