Jack Daniel’s Bonded Review

Jack Daniel’s Bonded is the strong, grown-up Jack, and my Jack Daniel’s Bonded review is a welcome one. It’s bolder, spicier and a better whiskey than the standard bottle.
About Jack Daniel’s Bonded
It’s made by Brown-Forman in Lynchburg, Tennessee, bottled at 50% (100 proof), and aged for at least four years in new charred American oak. “Bonded” means one distillery, one season, at least four years old and 100 proof. It’s still filtered through maple charcoal, which makes it a Tennessee whiskey.
It’s a stronger, richer version of the familiar Jack.
Jack Daniel’s Bonded tasting notes: nose, palate and finish
Caramel, vanilla and banana on the nose, with some oak and a hint of baking spice. It’s sweet and bold.
On the palate it’s smooth and full-bodied, with caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, a little banana and some pepper. The finish is long, warm and a bit spicy. It’s a lot more character than Old No. 7.
Jack Daniel’s Bonded: neat, with water or in a drink
I’d pour it neat first, then add a little water and see what changes. At 50% it’s strong enough to hold its own in an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan.
Is Jack Daniel’s Bonded worth the money?
About £35 for 70 cl. That’s a lot of extra quality for a few pounds more than the standard bottle, and it’s excellent value for 50%. Prices drift, so check the retailer link on this page for today’s Jack Daniel’s Bonded price before you buy.
Jack Daniel’s Bonded alternatives
Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 is the standard one, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select is the step up, and Evan Williams Bottled in Bond is a similar strength.
Who should buy Jack Daniel’s Bonded?
Jack Daniel’s fans who want something stronger and richer, and bourbon fans who like Tennessee whiskey.
Jack Daniel’s Bonded: my verdict
A bold, sweet, spicy Tennessee whiskey that’s a clear step up from the standard Jack. Good value. Caskable score: 74 out of 100.
